Leading, guiding and inspiring organizations in a constantly changing environment is challenging. Traditional concepts and theories of management and leadership are coming under pressure as new organization models arise and a new generation enters the labor market.
Teamwork is becoming ever more important and team autonomy is trending. These trends require leadership in agile organizations, also referred to as 'Agile Leadership'.
We define Agile Leadership as: ‘The capacity of leaders to support teams in creating customer value and to embrace uncertainties both inside and outside the organization.’ Many leaders have already mastered the basics: The challenge is to develop further the existing capabilities, so they can help the organization further develop itself in a sustainable way.
‘Agile Leadership’ helps you to develop your own leadership and support your organization on the path to agility.
What will you learn in this training?
With our ‘Agile Leadership’ Approach,
We distinguish leadership in three levels: Organizational level, Team level and Personal level. And Agile Leadership requires a different paradigm and approach at each level:
Individual perspective (YOU) Knowing yourself and WHY you do WHAT you do
Team perspective (WE IN OUR TEAM)
How to increase pace from immature to mature high-performing teams,
How to grow and develop teams to be independent and empowered to make their own decisions,
Conflict resolution skills and balancing between artificial harmony and destructive conflict.
Organizational perspective (ALL OF US)
Why do modern organizations need Agile Leadership,
What is the role of Managers and Leaders in organizations that embrace Agile,
How do we approach emergent strategy and structures that allow the organization to thrive in a complex adaptive environment,
How to balance an agile culture with an agile structure,
What are the key ingredients for being a learning organization in practice, not just in theory,
How to work to change behaviors – accomplishing an agile mindset and culture.
This highly interactive course will give you the tools and roadmap on how to grow your leadership - from building your capacity and skill in leading yourself as a follower and contributor, to how you lead others at all levels in the organization and ultimately how to support and enable others to lead at all levels.
Offline training is 2 full days consisting of a wide range of practices, exercises and games in order to embody the learnings.
During online training, we are using Zoom, Trello, Linoit, Mural, Miro, Coggle as facilitation tools. In case of effective use, team exercises become as efficient and enjoyable as it is on offline trainings!
Training is held in 4 half day sessions. The materials and necessary information are being shared before each session, so that the participants have enough familiarity in advance. There will be also some pre-work and after-work for every session.
Leading an agile organization is highly demanding for its leaders. It requires new ways of thinking, working and organizing.
The challenge of modern leadership is that people expect more from the modern workplace than just a paycheck; they seek workplaces where they can contribute and feel actively engaged - where they can be a part of something meaningful. As Agile Leaders, we have the opportunity and the challenge to facilitate and enable this to happen.
Upon an active and effective participation of the training, the participants will receive Agile People Certificate of Participation.
And as part of this training you will be invited to complete a certification assignment and receive the international ICP-ALP Agile Leadership Professional Certification which is given by International Consortium for Agile.
You will also be welcomed into the Agile People Community, a global network of agile professionals collaborating to promote and help modern organizations towards increased business agility.
All professionals, leaders who see the value of stimulating agility and want to learn to contribute on this transformaition, beginning with themselves and walk through the journey for employees, teams and their organizations into Agile.
Experience with agile is not required.
